The Bite Shield Protector Mosquito trap uses a combination of proven mosquito attractants, including UV light, CO2, and heat, to lure female mosquitoes over a 1/4 acre area. Once they are within range of the powerful vacuum fan, the mosquitoes are sucked into the catch cup where they quickly dehydrate and die. You can increase your trap's mosquito-luring power with optional hanging cartridges containing Octenol, an EPA-registered mosquito attractant that mimics human breath and is safe for humans, pets and the environment when released into the air. Each Octenol cartridge will last up to 30-60 days. With regular use, the Champion will catch a steady number of egg-laying female mosquitoes each day to gradually reduce the overall local mosquito population so you can truly enjoy outdoor living! For best results, we recommend operating the device continuously for 2-3 weeks in the early spring to break insect breeding cycles.
